about

WTD EP 006 50 EP is characterized by hard and sharp sounds. Distortion, acid lead and heavy bass, catapult the listener in the middle of dark abandoned factories, where the atmosphere of a rave echoes the rhythm of a neat drum machine. An atavistic fusion of Techno, EBM and industrial sounds, the EP is the proper mix between the old school tradition and the new breed of techno.

“Fünfzig” is the kind of track one would listen to in an obscure decadent club at some point in the early morning when the sun goes despite a long night. The vocal anticipates a punk bassline that keeps the tone of the music constantly up. A minimalistic, yet punchy stab fills the high end of the frequency spectrum conferring dynamism.

“Fünf” is a solid tool for hardest sets. The raw, saturated kick and bass are like a wall of sound. A lead brings an acid sensation and shifted in frequency, it breaks the vibe with a sense of instability. The drum rolls along the way, remind of old school forgotten hardcore parties.

“In Meinem Rave” is the banging tune of the EP. The acid lead moves back and forth but never lets the listener feel empty. The kick and snare drum speak for themselves, creating a punchy stomper tune that would burn a dancefloor.

“Fünfzig (Flaminia remix)” reworks the lead from the original version by merging it with a new trippy coloured pad. The broken groove would satisfy a more sophisticated audience, while still creating more than enough energy for a powerful set.

“Sometimes people get hurt
before they have even realised.
There are moments in life,
when the situation is dark
and you can barely see the light
while carried to a sidetrack.”
